Generation Africa

A community of storytelling advocates

@ Gates Archive/Jonathan Torgovnik

Generation Africa is a network of young storytellers, here to share their as-yet unheard stories and become champions for global development.

We know that stories can be powerful tools for change and the people behind the stories hold the power to help change the world for the better. It has never been more important to hear these stories, where Africa’s young people are at the heart of conversations to inspire and inform the global community.

Through their stories, Generation Africa will raise awareness of critical development issues, holding their leaders to account for the promises they have made in health and global development. Generation Africa seek to inspire, to inform and to change the face of the continent for their – and future – generations.

The Thomson Reuters Foundation, developed the Generation Africa program to equip dynamic young storytellers will the skills needed for them to use their voices to inspire action, fully funded by the Gates Foundation. Each year, 12 dynamic individuals will be invited to join Generation Africa.
